Southerndown is a hidden gem of a course, part links, part heathland, situated on the South Wales coast at Bridgend, not far from Royal Porthcawl, with views across the Bristol Channel and the North Devon moors. It is a true natural test of golf, with gorse, bracken, wind and even sheep all adding to the challenge.
Founded in 1905, Southerndown has a wealth of golfing tradition. It has played host to the legendary Gene Sarazen and Henry Cotton famously called the first "One of the toughest opening holes in golf!"
