South Africa offers golfers a fantastic opportunity to embrace the great outdoors including safari, whale watching and wine tours – in addition to playing some of the world’s finest golf courses.
The region of Western Cape is considered South Africa’s golfing mecca, with Fancourt Resort home to three outstanding Championship Courses designed by Gary Player. The region is also home to classic coastal courses at Pinnacle Point, St Francis Links and Pezula.
The city of George is located between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth along the Garden Route - a 200km stretch of natural vegetation along the South Coast of South Africa.
Fancourt’s reputation is internationally esteemed after hosting the Presidents Cup in 2003, Nelson Mandela’s 46664 concert in 2005 and Japan’s football team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
South Africa has a Mediterranean climate, with moderately hot summers and mild winters. Western Cape is one of the richest rainfall areas, with the majority falling during the winter months (May – July).
