Local Area

Marrakech's major attractions include Djemaa el-Fna Square and the Koutoubia, the spiritual symbol of the area and its most prominent monument. There’s also the Menara, an immense twelfth-century pool said to be used by Sultans in the past, and the Agdal Gardens. All are within 15 km of Palmeraie Resort.

There’s trekking in the Atlas mountains, while, if you can stand the touts, the colourful open-air markets are piled high with bargains.

PalmGolf Ourika (open 2015) features 46 bunkers and 6 hazardous lakes. PalmGolf Ourika is managed by Troon Golf, experts for upscale golf resorts. Ourika offers quality TaylorMade practice balls and allows unlimited use of the driving range before or after your round of golf.

Assoufid Golf Club

Par: 72 Length: 5957m Course designer: Niall Cameron

Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, Assoufid Golf Course winds its way through a unique, naturally undulating desert landscape. As his first golf course design project, Scottish designer and former European Tour player, Niall Cameron, had the vision to create a desert-style golf course that would look and feel as natural and as integrated into the existing landscape as possible, while maximizing the beautiful views of North Africa’s Atlas Mountains to the south. Assoufid Golf Club recognizes the importance of protecting and enhancing its natural environment, in which only 45% of the golf course was planted to minimize water consumption. During construction, a significant number of trees found growing on site were retained, and many more have since been planted, including palm trees, cacti and olive trees. Awarded 'Africa's Best New Golf Course 2014' by the World Golf Awards.

Al Maaden GC

The Al Maaden Championship Course (opened in 2008) features a dramatic layout at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains – becoming the new must play in Morocco! The course was created by Kyle Phillips, most famous for designing Kingsbarns, Dundonald and the spectacular Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. The Al Maaden residential development will feature a Park Hyatt and luxury boutique W Hotel, making it the leading resort in Marrakech! Al Maaden hosted an EPD (European Professional Development) Tour event in 2010 & 2011.

Fairmont Royal Palm Golf

With the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and snowy peaks in the background, the 18-hole golf course at Fairmont Royal Palm covers 75 hectares of natural space offering a true “commune with nature”. The golf course design by Cabell Robinson respected the environment and landscape, taking into consideration the Wadi river, every tree and every hill, combining all the shapes and hues of a generous nature, to create a respectful course bordered by bougainvillea and oleanders. The Golf Country Club of Fairmont Royal Palm offers members and their guests a modern, yet relaxed atmosphere with first-class amenities. It naturally boasts a host of facilities that reflect the high standards associated with the name Fairmont, including dining areas Sabra and Legends’ Bar, the most exquisite men’s and women’s locker rooms and a golf shop that provides the finest in golfing attire. The Club also offers an exclusive exercise and yoga room as well as a semi-Olympic swimming pool.
