Respect for the traditions of golf and the natural environment were the inspiration behind the layout of the Espiche Golf course and the result has been one that offers a true challenge for golfers of all levels.
Set within unspoilt undulating countryside, the greens and fairways of the course have been carefully placed to balance the dual demands of the golfer and the environment, with indigenous planting throughout creating a beautiful backdrop and some challenging obstacles.
Bunkers guard most greens while the greens themselves are large and undulating, demanding a soft hand with the putter. Espiche is a shot-maker’s course where each hole poses a new challenge thanks to the variety of the layout.
The par five 1st, dropping some 80 feet from the tee before rising back to the same height at the green, gives golfers an insight into the style of golf at Espiche. The par five 10th is one of the finest in the Algarve and challenges golfers to negotiate the progressively tighter fairway as they approach the green.
Golfers are pushed to take risks with their game at Espiche Golf, with rich rewards for those who make the most of their golfing skills and judge the course best.
Espiche Golf is different, not only thanks to its location within a national park above an ancient aquifer, but also in the underlying ethos behind the management of every aspect of the club. We believe that the future of the game lies in making it sustainable for upcoming generations. To achieve this, we have used cutting edge science and technology to create a course that reflects our duel passions for golf and environmental conservation.
